Starting a Chinese or oriental tattoo

Zencat’s artist, Yao, studied at the China Academy of Art before working in game art and tattooing. Eastern subjects in the portfolio include Zhong Kui the demon queller in an ink-painting style and a black and grey Manjushri. Guardian figures, Buddhist deities and symbols such as the lotus carry specific meanings, so the design starts with what the image means to you.

If you are searching for a Chinese or Asian tattoo artist in Sydney, you can explain the story behind a Chinese character, a deity or a family symbol in Mandarin, and receive a design that respects its meaning.

Tell us the figure or symbol you have in mind, any family or cultural meaning, the placement and an approximate size. Consultations are available in English and Mandarin, so you can explain the meaning in the language you are most comfortable with.

Sydney guest-spot enquiries are welcome. Zencat does not currently have a permanent Sydney studio. A host studio and dates must be arranged and confirmed before any appointment can be booked.
